
Police hunt for hit-and-run suspect who fled crash scene
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Interstate 270, police said.
The crash happened around 7:56 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-270 near Williams Road, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Investigators said an adult victim was walking along the interstate when they were hit by an unknown vehicle.
The driver did not stop after the collision, police said. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The department’s Accident Investigation Unit is leading the case. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at (614) 645-4767 or submit an anonymous tip to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
