Flames Rip Through Kingston Residence; Red Cross Steps in
KINGSTON, Ohio — A residential structure fire in Kingston left a home severely damaged and its occupants displaced Thursday evening, prompting emergency response from multiple fire departments and assistance from the American Red Cross.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene around 6:30 p.m. after reports of a structure fire at a residence on Kingston-Adelphi Road. Upon arrival, responders found the home fully engulfed in flames. The occupants had already evacuated safely.
According to investigative notes, one of the residents had attempted to extinguish the fire using a garden hose before emergency crews arrived. Firefighters from Kingston, Adelphi, and Pickaway Township responded to the scene and worked to contain the blaze.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire originated in the garage area, where a wood burner had been in use. The flames reportedly spread rapidly, consuming the structure and rendering it uninhabitable.
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was contacted to provide support and temporary shelter for the displaced residents.
The incident remains under investigation.
