Scioto County Man Found Dead in Suspected Homicide

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a homicide on Millers Run Fallen Timber Road in Scioto County after a man was found dead Monday night.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman said his 911 communications center received a call at 9:40 p.m. from a man who had stopped by the residence to check on a friend and discovered him unresponsive, possibly deceased.

Deputies, detectives, and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, investigators determined the death was a homicide. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the State Fire Marshal’s Office were notified and are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Rocky L. Jordan, Sheriff Thoroughman said.
