Columbus man charged after 5-month-old girl dies from severe head injuries; investigators say story didn’t match evidence.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 5-month-old girl who police say suffered fatal head injuries earlier this week.

Glenn McIntosh, 32, is accused of inflicting severe blunt force trauma that led to the death of the infant, identified as Ameira Reynolds, according to court documents.

Emergency crews from the Madison Township Fire Department responded around 10:50 a.m. Monday to a home on the 4000 block of Willard Brook Road after receiving a call about an unresponsive baby. The child was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead later that evening at 6:32 p.m., WBNS-TV reported.

Investigators said the child’s injuries were not consistent with the account initially provided to authorities. Detectives later interviewed McIntosh, who was charged with murder and booked into the Franklin County jail, according to a statement obtained by ABC6.

The investigation into the child’s death remains ongoing.
